Live Oaks in the Lowcountry

It is a special gift when I get to plan with a couple who is local! I get to plan in beautiful, destination locations so often our couples are traveling from different parts of the country, sometimes even the world! So when a couple local to the Hilton Head area reached out for planning help I was super excited! All of our meetings took place at their favorite restaurants, on week nights, with some sort of adult beverage and delicious snack accompanying our planning conversations. This, FYI, is the BEST way to wedding plan.

Ashley and Doug were completely focused on showing their guests a great time. Good food & dancing were their top priority and we made that happen! Dinner guests were seated family style and treated to BBQ stations. Desserts were all bite sized and hand held so guests could snack on the dance floor. DJ Gary (one of our favs!) from JLK events kept people on the dance floor ALL night long.

The setting was also one of our favs, Honey Horn at the Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head. This open pavilion is nestled in between historic live oak trees dripping in Spanish moss. Y'all, I L.O.V.E it here! If the pavilion wasn't enough for you it is set right next to a circular grove of live oaks that provide numerous ceremony locations. Or, don't even use the pavilion and just set the entire wedding under a canopy of Spanish moss. The options are endless. Did I mention there are also docks over the marsh and a butterfly garden onsite? Yep, thats right.

The photos below from the wonderful Carrie Friesen give you a glimpse of their beautiful day. I had a VERY hard time narrowing these down. Seriously- I can only do 15 at a time and when I went through the gallery I had chosen 115. Given this fact, please watch our Instagram as we share these photos for the next 365 days. Just kidding, kinda.
