Nantucket Wildflowers

It is something very special when a friend asks me to be part of their special day. So this wedding is pretty freakin special! Ashley (and Trevor of course) quickly became very good friends after my move to Nantucket. They introduced me to all that this island has to offer; From spending maybe a little to much time at the Brewery to secret beach spots, they were our guides for our new home. It is both a honor and fitting that they were my first Nantucket wedding.

I was very excited for this event for many reasons but a big one was that it wasn't the traditional 'Nantucket' wedding. Trust me- the entire blue spectrum is my favorite color, I love all things ocean and hydrangeas are beautiful so I love traditional Nantucket weddings. However, I was super excited for Ashley's twist with lots of wildflower inspiration. Bud-vases with sunflowers and bouquets provided by Cisco growers were the main decor for the wedding. Ashley even did some foraging herself to ensure that the wildflowers were in fact wild. Golds, blue, purples, reds and burgundy are seen all throughout the ceremony and reception.

The location, a private rental home, was extra special because on the other side of the pond (the backdrop for the ceremony site) is Sankaty Head Lighthouse - the spot where Trevor proposed! These two incorporated personalize touches like this everywhere. Their home state of Pennsylvania made two different appearances: a traditional Pittsburg cookie table and their wedding version of the Pittsburg Steeler's terrible towel. There was also a Phish grooms cake, a signature drink in honor of their favorite hang out spot (Cisco Brewery) and a cake topper featuring the silhouettes of the couple and their two weimaraners: Piper & Pocono.
